What is Rough-sawn vs Finish sanded?
Finish sanding is a smooth finished surface typically found on project lumber in big box stores. Rough sawn is how it looks and feels straight off the mill. Term is used for unfinished and rough surfaced lumber like many hardwood pallets.
What does "Stabilized" mean?
This is utilizing epoxy to harden and halt change to the surface or bark of the wood
What is the benefit of using logs or recently downed trees?
Utilizing recently fallen trees or your own logs from trees you are looking to cut down is a fantastic way to *cut down* on landfill use, and source lumber for your own projects. Now this also can significantly shrink the cost of having a company take down trees as they won't be hauling the logs away, or spending extra time cutting them into much smaller pieces.
Would you take logs that are cut down?
Yes, and No If you are having trees taken down in your yard feel free to reach out! Depending on the size, length and type of wood we could offer your tree service a place to bring them saving them and you dumping/disposal fees. Also we can come out, mill on site and take the lumber away (and as much saw dust as we can), while leaving you any cuts you'd want.
What forms of payment do you take?
PayPal, Venmo, Zelle and Cash.
What kind of purposes can I use the lumber you produce for?
If you are a woodworker by trade or hobby, fresh lumber at little to no cost is almost always better than sourcing from lumber yards or box stores.
If you are just looking to try your hands in making something. This could be a great way to gain experience. Once dried you could shiplap a room, create an accent wall or make your own projects!
